Mac Storage Full? Get 20GB Back in 10 Minutes (No BS Guide)
The 'disk almost full' alert does not tell you what to delete. A step-by-step guide for everyday Mac users in the US and Canada.

Your Mac says Storage Almost Full. Apple’s recommendation is “Manage…” which opens a screen that still hides the answer.
Step 1 — Empty Trash
Obvious but often 5–20 GB. Right-click Trash → Empty Trash.
Step 2 — Downloads folder
Sort by size. Old .dmg installers from 2022? Delete. FreeUpMac’s map shows Downloads as a distinct block.
Step 3 — Scan with a disk map (free)

- Large Library/Caches (Safe)
- Developer folders if you ever installed Xcode (Review)

Step 4 — Local Time Machine snapshots
